It’s almost time. Wednesday Addams is back in black, and Season 2 is bringing even more weird, witchy chaos to Nevermore Academy. We’re talking new faces, old grudges, evolving powers, and at least one character who might not make it out alive.
Netflix is dropping this season in two parts (because of course they are), and based on the trailer and cast teasers—it’s going to be darker, bloodier, and way more personal.

🔮 Season 1 Recap: A Little Bit of Murder and a Whole Lot of Trauma
Let’s rewind. Season 1 ended with Wednesday (played to perfection by Jenna Ortega) unraveling a centuries-old revenge plot, exposing her classmate Tyler as the bloodthirsty Hyde, and taking down Laurel Gates—aka her plant-loving, secretly evil teacher Marilyn Thornhill (shoutout to Christina Ricci).
Oh, and Principal Weems died. Half the school burned. And just when Wednesday thought she could take a breath, she got a stalker sending creepy photos and the classic “I’m watching you” text.
So yeah. Not exactly a chill semester.
🗓️ Season 2 Release Dates
Netflix is splitting Season 2 into two parts:
- Part 1: August 6, 2025
- Part 2: September 3, 2025
Filming moved to Ireland, which makes perfect sense. Dark forests. Fog. Old ruins. It’s like a live-action fairytale but moodier—and colder.
👀 Who’s Back?
All your favorites are coming back:
- Jenna Ortega as Wednesday
- Emma Myers as Enid, her bubbly werewolf roommate
- Hunter Doohan as Tyler, the monster with a messy past
- Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán are back as Morticia and Gomez, now in bigger roles
- Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley), Joy Sunday (Bianca), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester) are also returning
Plus, a few cast members got promoted, including Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Deputy Santiago. Which probably means the cops in Jericho will actually do something this time.
🌟 Who’s New?
Some very famous faces are joining Season 2—and their roles are still pretty hush-hush:
- Steve Buscemi is the new principal, Barry Dort. You already know he’s going to crush it.
- Joanna Lumley plays Grandmama Addams (finally!).
- Lady Gaga will show up in Part 2 as Rosaline Rotwood. No one knows what her deal is—but it’s Lady Gaga. That’s the deal.
- Billie Piper, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, and Evie Templeton are also part of the lineup. No confirmed details yet.
There are also guest appearances from Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, and Haley Joel Osment. Wild.
🎥 Trailer Breakdown (Spoilers, Obviously)
So here’s what we saw in the trailer (dropped July 9):
- Wednesday walks back into Nevermore. Morticia asks how it feels. She replies: “Like returning to the scene of the crime.” Cold. Perfect.
- Enid might die—or at least that’s what one of Wednesday’s visions says. She’s convinced it’s her fault.
- Wednesday’s powers are getting weirder. She’s crying black ink, and it looks like her psychic side is spiraling.
- Steve Buscemi’s character calls her the “savior of Nevermore.” She hates it.
- And she’s kind of famous now? People ask for selfies. She is not into it.
The whole thing is set to a creepy version of The Phantom of the Opera. It fits.
💀 What Fans Are Theorizing
Of course, fans are already going full conspiracy:
- Wednesday & Tyler might still have something going on? Actor Hunter Doohan teased that Tyler “still has feelings” but is also “playing mind games.”
- Wenclair shippers (Wednesday + Enid) are holding onto hope. Enid is getting more screen time, and fans noticed she’s now billed third in the cast.
- Wednesday might actually die? Some wild theories say she sacrifices herself for Enid and gets revived in a séance.
- Others think she’ll accidentally kill someone innocent—setting up a moral mess for Season 3.
- Also: Wednesday’s powers might be breaking reality. That’s a fun one.
🎬 Episode Info
Netflix hasn’t dropped full episode details, but here’s what we do know:
- There will be 8 episodes total, each around an hour.
- The premiere is called “Here We Woe Again.”
- It’s directed by Tim Burton and written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, so yeah—it’s gonna slap.
🔥 Why This Season Matters
Season 1 wasn’t just popular. It was a cultural event.
- Over 252 million views
- Countless memes
- A TikTok dance that took over the planet
- Jenna Ortega got an Emmy nomination—and didn’t blink once while filming
Now, Season 2 has to level up. And based on everything we’ve seen, it will.
Final Take: This Season’s Gonna Hurt (In a Good Way)
Wednesday Addams is coming back stronger, weirder, and probably even sadder. Between the stalkers, the monsters, and the psychic meltdowns, Season 2 looks like it’s ready to break some hearts—and possibly some bones.
Whether you’re here for the drama, the murder, the fashion, or the deadpan one-liners, August 6 can’t come soon enough.
What are you hoping happens in Season 2? Any theories you’re too afraid to admit?
