Y’all. The first two episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 are DONE. And based on what Ross said? This final season is going to break our hearts, melt our minds, and basically ruin us in the best way possible. 💔🧠

We’ve been waiting so long for anything real, and now that we’ve got teaser titles, hints about what’s coming, and Duffer-level hype? I am officially in emotional prep mode for the end of an era.

Let’s break it all down.

📩 What Ross Duffer Just Revealed About Stranger Things Season 5

So, here’s what happened: Ross Duffer posted a behind-the-scenes pic of Episode 2 on Instagram with the caption:

“Chapters One and Two: locked, mixed, scored, colored, DONE.”

Uhhh, excuse me?! That means Episode 1 and Episode 2 are 100% finished. The sound, the color, the music — everything is locked in. That’s not just a little update, that’s real progress and I am SHAKING.

He didn’t stop there.

Ross revealed:

  • Episode 1 is titled “The Crawl”
  • Episode 2 is titled “The Vanishing of
” (the rest was blurred 👀)
  • Episode 1 is their “favorite, most eventful” opener since Season 1
  • Episode 2 has the “craziest cold open” they’ve ever done

I repeat: THE CRAZIEST COLD OPEN THEY’VE EVER DONE. Coming from the people who gave us Russian Demogorgons and the Battle of Starcourt Mall?? That’s not a small flex.

Also, the blurred out title? Pure evil, Duffer Bros. Pure. Evil.

đŸ€Ż So
Who’s Vanishing in Episode 2 of Stranger Things Season 5?

You already know we’re not just gonna let that slide. As soon as Ross posted that blurred title, the internet went full conspiracy mode — and honestly? Some of the theories are too good.

Let’s get into the juiciest ones:

❌ It’s Not Eleven

Ross basically shut that theory down in the post. He captioned it with:

“Yeah yeah you think you know who blah blah
”

Which is his classic sarcastic way of saying: You’re wrong. So, sorry Reddit — it’s not El.

🔍 Holly Wheeler Is the Fan-Favorite Theory Right Now

This is where things get interesting. There’s growing speculation that the full title of Episode 2 is “The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler.” Here’s why:

  • Holly has been recast for Season 5 (she’s now played by Nell Fisher)
  • There are behind-the-scenes photos of Nell on set with Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna)
  • A leaked list of episode titles on Reddit also named Ep 2 exactly as “The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler”
  • The Duffer Brothers love bringing old threads full circle — and Holly has always been kind of quietly in the background since Season 1

If this turns out to be true, it would be so dark but also so fitting. Season 1 began with a vanishing
and maybe Season 5 mirrors that by starting with another one — this time closer to the Wheeler family than ever before.

Do I want it to be true? No. Am I emotionally ready for it? Also no. But does it sound like peak Stranger Things? YES.

đŸ—“ïž Stranger Things Season 5 Release Dates, Timeline & Plot Details

Not only are episodes 1 and 2 finished — we actually have a release plan now. According to the latest reports, Stranger Things Season 5 will be released in three parts, giving us an extended farewell through the holidays.

📆 Here’s the current release schedule:

  • Volume 1 (Episodes 1–4): November 26, 2025
  • Volume 2 (Episodes 5–7): December 25, 2025
  • Volume 3 (Finale – Episode 8): December 31, 2025

That’s right — we’re spending Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s with our favorite Hawkins crew. I mean, what better way to celebrate the holidays than with supernatural chaos and emotional devastation?

đŸ•°ïž Timeline: Fall 1987

We’re jumping ahead to Fall 1987, and it’s not looking good for Hawkins.

Netflix’s official synopsis confirms:

  • Hawkins is under military quarantine
  • Massive rifts from the Upside Down have torn the town apart
  • Eleven is in hiding
  • The crew is united with one goal: defeat Vecna once and for all

So yeah
it’s war. This is the final battle. Everything’s on the line. And judging by how Episode 1 and 2 are already being hyped, it’s gonna be one hell of a goodbye.

😭 I’m Not Ready — But I’m All In

Look, I knew Stranger Things Season 5 would be emotional, but I didn’t expect to already be spiraling after two episode titles.

We’ve been with these characters since 2016. Watching them grow up, fall in love, fight monsters, face trauma, lose people, and somehow still keep going. And now — this is it.

I’m excited, terrified, and totally unprepared to say goodbye. But if The Crawl and The Vanishing of
are any indication? The Duffers are going to stick this landing HARD.

All I ask is
don’t kill Steve. Or Dustin. Or literally any of them, actually. Please?
